Douglas Rowland was known as the "Father of Lacrosse" in Port Coquitlam. He began his career in 1909 as a player and completed it 65 years later as a manager. A truly dedicated man he made lacrosse his life. He was the driving force behind the construction of the first lacrosse box in Port Coquitlam and worked unselfishly in promoting the game he loved. Port Coquitlam honoured him in 197' for outstanding service to the community.
