Frederick (Fred) John Hume   – (May 2, 1892 – February 17, 1967)

Hume is considered one of the few sportsmen to be inducted into both the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Hockey Hall of Fame. 

He was president of the New Westminster Salmonbellies for many years and was instrumental in building the Mann Cup team of 1937. 

He was mayor of New Westminster and would later become the mayor of Vancouver. A fine gentleman, he never lost his love of the game.
